Abstract
New England Power Company (NEP) is using in-house engineering and craftsmen to design and build new automation controls. NEP is utilizing existing and new technology to implement rigorous and reliable systems that are cost effective. Specifically, new 'smart' remote terminal units (RTU's) are allowing new strategies that allow cost savings over traditional methods.
