Hatch manages equipment installation at QIT
Hatch has been retained by Rio Tinto to provide engineering, construction and management services for the installation of new equipment during the annual shutdown at the QIT iron and steel plant in Sorel-Tracy, Québec.
The new equipment will include: a casting arch, a water-cooled damper for the converter fume hood, and a ladle furnace hood. All must be installed by the end of the shutdown period. The shutdown will take place in August 2010.
Hatch will provide scheduling and supervision of the shutdown installations.
The Hatch office in Sorel-Tracy will manage the assignment.
