Mineraçao Maracá’s Chapada project is expected to produce an average of about 120,000 ounces of gold and 107 million pounds of copper per year for the first five years of a 25-year mine life. The project consisted of a greenfield mining development and a copper/gold concentrator plant with a capacity of 172,000 tpa of concentrate.
Facilities include primary crushing, ore conveying and storage system, SAG and ball milling, flotation, regrinding, thickening, filtering, concentrate storage, tailings dam and disposal, water recovery and treatment, and all ancillary facilities associated with the plant and high-voltage line for power supply.
Hatch provided EPCM for the Chapada project in the state of Goiás in Brazil. Hatch was previously awarded the bankable feasibility study in February 2004, and completed the study in July 2004.
