Abstract
Applications of Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) methods to evaluate optimum development strategies for a mineral deposit are well regarded techniques. The method is routinely applied to open pit evaluations, particularly due to the availability of integrated software solutions that facilitate the analysis. Similar techniques for the evaluation of deposits suited to underground mining methods are not routinely applied. Software developments in recent years now provide the mine planning engineer with a suitable set of tools to complete a strategic evaluation of an underground mining method. Application of these technologies to the study of a tabular copper deposit is discussed.
