Abstract
In order to take advantage from the so called “lessons learnt”, a knowledge base, for the management of those lessons, is presented. To achieve such an outcome, an original approach to represent the attained knowledge, well suited for engineering and project management, is proposed. In supporting the afore-mentioned approach, a knowledge base has been implemented, governed by engineering criteria and/or standards wherein past experiences may be taken into account. In addition, such a system enables updating, modification and enhancement of the knowledge in several fields of expertise.
