Abstract
The 510,000 Am3/h (300,000 ACFM) bagbouse system installed at AMEPdSTEEL's Knoxville mill includes a number of "clean plant design" and other features benefiting
environmental performance and maintainability. The value of front-end engineering services to achieve a clean meltshop with the installation of a well-designed and maintainable baghouso system is demonstrated. The system was designed to meet the short-term environmental improvement objectives for the plant, and also to be compatible with the long-term expansion plans. This paper presents the steps taken from initial concept development through to installation of the baghouse system. It also describes
the positive design features. A number of photographs of the installed system are included to illustrate the system features.
