Expansion of existing smelter, up-and downstream processing facilities and services to increase production capacity of titania
slag from 700,000 to 1,000,000 tpa.
Engineering from scope definition through to detailed design, including design and drawing production, preparation of
equipment and construction specifications, bid analyses and recommendations, capital cost estimates and programming of
process control PLC's. Provided bulk of manpower for procurement, cost control, scheduling, construction management and
field supervision. Full responsibility for all commissioning and start-up activities. Completion of ‘as-built’ drawings and
specifications and preparation of design and operating manuals.
- Addition of fourth smelting furnace and related equipment
- Expansion of roaster magnetic separation capacity and product storage capacity
- Additional iron injection and pig casting equipment
- Expansion of slag milling, screening and storage facilities including new fluid bed classifier
- Expansion of services: compressed air, water, high voltage, emergency power and CO gas plant
- Computer process control in all plant areas
