Abstract
With the advancements in the civil and structural construction industries, including construction methodologies, techniques, and equipment, along with monitoring devices and methods; intensive construction projects - such as subway systems, highways, and highrise buildings - are progressing aggressively even in dense urban environments. Amongst the many challenges of these projects (e.g. environmental effects), which require lots of attention and study, is the influence of construction (i.e.: associated construction excavation) on existing infrastructures and utilities, including major pipelines located at the construction zone of influence.
