Rory Kirk joined Hatch in 2001 as Regional Director – Africa, Mining and Minerals Processing and was elected to the Hatch Board of Directors in 2007. Mr. Kirk is a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand where he holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, the University of South Africa’s Management Development Programme, and the University of Stellenbosch’s Masters of Business Administration programme. He holds an Engineering Certificate of Competency from South Africa’s Department of Minerals and Energy.
As author of many technical papers, Mr. Kirk’s career includes extensive project and general management experience in the South African open-cast and underground mining industry. Rory leads project teams from feasibility to final commissioning.
Professional affiliations include the Association of Mine Manager and the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE).
