Kurt Strobele joined Hatch in 1973, and in 1994 he was elected Global Managing Director – Industrial Minerals. Dr. Strobele joined the Board of Directors in 1996 and was appointed Chairman and CEO in 2004. He is currently the Chairman and Director. He is a graduate of the University of Johannesburg where he received an Hons. B.Sc. Engineering and from McMaster University where he earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Strobele has authored and co-authored numerous technical papers.
With more than 32 years of experience in metallurgical plant design, project and construction management, Dr. Strobele has been responsible for the development and direction of major EPCM and several projects that included scale-up and commercialization of new processes.
Dr. Strobele’s professional affiliations include the Professional Engineers Ontario, the Engineering Institute of Canada, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum (AIME).
